IRFAN IQBAL

MANAGING DIRECTOR
SAN FRANCISCO

Irfan is a founder and managing director at Inertia Advisors. Irfan has over 15 years of technology investment banking experience. He has worked as a senior banker at global growth focused technology investment banks, emerging boutique firms, and as a public company executive. He has substantial experience providing M&A advisory services, raising private capital, strategic financings and public equity offerings. His sector experience spans Internet, Software/ SaaS, Data and Digital Media with over 60 completed for companies across the growth lifecycle from early stage to mature public companies.

Irfan has sold companies to a variety of acquirers across the technology ecosystem and has completed private capital financings with leading PE, growth equity, structured debt and venture capital firms. Selected financial firms he has worked with include: ABS, Accel-KKR, Audax, Battery, BofA, Canaan, iNovia, Insight Ventures, IVP, Norwest, Partners for Growth, Riverside, Sequoia Capital, Spectrum Equity, SVB, Wasatch, among others.  Selected strategic acquirers he has worked with on completed transactions include Bankrate, Conde Nast, Descartes, DTS, DrillingInfo, Cisco, Alcatel- Lucent, J2 Global, Qualcomm, RIMM, Red Bend Software, Zillow. In addition he has worked on IPO and Follow-on offerings for HomeAway, Zillow, Bazaarvoice, Brightcove, Cray, DTS, InterVideo, Tibco, among others.

Prior to Inertia, Irfan was a Principal at Vaquero Capital and a Vice President at Pacific Crest Securities and Rutberg & Company. He also ran corporate development at a company which he helped take public as part of the lead underwriting team, DTS Inc. He began his career as a financial analyst at SG Cowen.

Irfan received a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance with a minor in MIS from the University of Texas at Austin and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2005.

Kelemen Papp

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Kelemen is a partner and managing director at Inertia Advisors. Kelemen has over 15 years of experience in technology investment banking and finance. Prior to Inertia Advisors, Kelemen was a senior banker at Mooreland Partners, a global mid-market investment bank focused on the technology sector. Kelemen helped build out the Digital Media practice at Mooreland Partners and also served as a senior member of the Communications Software practice. 

Prior to joining Mooreland Partners, Kelemen was a Vice President at Rutberg & Company, a boutique investment bank focused on Wireless and Mobility. At Rutberg, Kelemen sold numerous businesses into the mobile value chain and helped raise capital for market leaders. In aggregate, Kelemen has completed 30+ transactions over his career, including sell-side M&A, buy-side M&A, divestitures, private placements, debt restructuring and strategic advisory. He has completed transactions with Alcatel Lucent, Avid, Blackberry, DeNA Global, Deutsche Telekom, Intel, J2 Global, Samsung, Qualcomm, Under Armour, as well as private equity firms, such as Vista Equity, Francisco Partners, IGP, and many others.

Prior to technology investment banking, Kelemen spent over three years in product and operational roles in the FinTech sector. He helped commercially launch two new companies, Curian Capital and FOLIOfn Investments. He also helped create the Alternative Display Facility (ADF), an SRO display only facility that is operated by FINRA.  

Kelemen received his M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and also holds a B.B.A. in Information Technology from The College of William & Mary.

 

Colin Lestrange

VICE PRESIDENT
NEW YORK

Colin spearheads Inertia’s business development efforts. Prior to joining Inertia, Colin founded an HR tech company called HireOwl, which was sold to a strategic buyer in late 2016. Colin spent his time at HireOwl scaling up a labor marketplace and structuring revenue generating partnerships.

Colin began his career in equity research. He covered small-large cap technology and media companies at Prudential Equity Group, Oppenheimer & Co., and Wells Fargo Securities.

Colin has a degree in international business from Loyola University.

Allen Kogan

DIRECTOR
SAN FRANCISCO

Allen is a Director at Inertia Advisors and leads the firm’s efforts in Digital Media. He has spent 10 years as an investment banker representing mid- to late-stage technology companies in their M&A and capital raising processes.

Allen possesses deep domain expertise in the video sector (traditional broadcast, OTT and Internet new media), mobile ecosystem and human-computer interaction space. Allen possesses strong understanding of the technology stack – from embedded hardware and software to apps and services – and a wide network of industry relationships.

Prior to Inertia, Allen was at Mooreland Partners, where he was part of the founding team of the Silicon Valley office. Over 7 years at Mooreland, Allen executed transactions across various technology sectors including digital media, mobile, Internet services, ad tech, semiconductors and storage software. Selected transactions he has completed include Qumu’s divestiture to Equus Holdings, Viewdle’s sale to Google/Motorola Mobility, Scalado’s sale to Nokia, Saffron Digital’s sale to HTC, The Astonishing Tribe’s (TAT) sale to Blackberry and Diligent Technologies’ sale to IBM.

Prior to Mooreland, Allen spent several years at SVB Alliant, the investment banking arm of Silicon Valley Bank, where he executed capital raising assignments for technology and healthcare/biotechnology clients.

Allen received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley in 2005.

 

Jon ng

ASSOCIATE
SAN FRANCISCO

Jon is an Associate at Inertia Advisors.  Prior to joining Inertia, Jon worked in Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis at Autodesk and supported the company’s strategic planning efforts during its transition to a SaaS business model.  Prior to Autodesk, Jon worked in Revenue Accounting and Finance in Qualcomm’s Connectivity and Networking Business Unit focusing on the Mobile, Computing, Consumer Electronics, and IoT segments. 

Jon has a B.S in Finance and a minor in Economics from San Diego State University and is an inactive California Certified Public Accountant.
